Kids SENDIASS (Information, Advice & Support Services)

SENDIASS is a free, impartial, and confidential service for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), as well as their parents and carers. It provides information on rights, guidance on navigating education, health, and social care systems, help with Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs), support with school meetings, and how to appeal decisions if needed. The service aims to empower families to make informed decisions and ensure the support available meets the child’s needs.

Kids

Provides practical and emotional support to families of disabled children and young people, offering services like inclusive play, advocacy, and family support.

Carefree

Carefree is a UK charity that supports full-time unpaid carers by providing affordable short breaks using unsold hotel rooms donated by the hospitality industry. Their work helps carers take much-needed time to rest, recharge, and look after their own wellbeing.

Charlie Waller Trust

Mental health resources and training for parents, carers, and professionals to support young people’s emotional wellbeing.

Encounter

Offers movement-based, play-led and creative activities to support children with SEND and their families in connecting and thriving together.

Mind

A leading mental health charity offering information, helplines, and support for parents/carers coping with emotional challenges.

Tulip Neurodisability Team

A specialist team offering support for children and families dealing with complex neurodisability needs, focusing on coordinated care and empowerment.

Family Fund

Provides grants to families on low incomes raising disabled or seriously ill children, helping with essentials like equipment, days out, or travel.

Mencap

Support for people with learning disabilities and their families through advice, advocacy, and inclusive community services.

National Autistic Society

A key organisation offering information, advocacy, and support for autistic individuals and their families, including educational guidance and helplines.

Carer’s Allowance

If you spend at least 35 hours a week looking after someone with significant care needs, you may be entitled to Carer’s Allowance. This government benefit is designed to provide financial support for carers, helping to ease some of the pressures that come with a full-time caring role. You can find full eligibility criteria and apply directly through the official GOV.UK website.

Walk With ME Uk

 

Walk with Me UK is an Award Winning, Non-Judgmental, life changing/saving support and guidance service that work DIRECTLY with Parents/Carers to practically manage the challenges they experience such as violent, aggressive/abusive/ destructive behaviours often linked to:

• Special Educational Needs & Disabilities

• Child to Parent/Carer Abuse and Disputes

• School Exclusion/Isolation

• Self Harm/Suicidal threats, thoughts, attempts

• Child Criminal/Sexual Exploitation and so much more .. amongst Children and Young People (2yrs+).  

We use the Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) approach to reduce conflict, regain love, empathy, respect and to keep families connected. 

'Connection before Correction' is KEY!

STAK life

STAK life

STAK (Stefans Acts of Kindness) is a Kent-based Community Interest Company (CIC) that provides training, consultancy, and creative wellbeing groups for neurodivergent young people and their families.

Founded by the parents of Stefan Kluibenschadl, who died in 2022 after struggling with his mental health, their aim is to continue his legacy of kindness and support, particularly for those who feel isolated or bullied.

They offer workshops on neurodivergence for parents, professionals, and businesses, as well as creative andwell-being support groups for neurodivergent young people and those experiencing grief and loss.
