Last summer, You’re Never Alone hosted a four-day inclusive event designed specifically for parents, carers, and their children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). The event provided a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment where families could relax, connect, and enjoy quality time together. With a range of tailored activities, entertainment, and refreshments, the event focused on creating positive experiences and building a strong sense of community.

During the Easter holidays, we held another inclusive event for SEND children and their families. Alongside fun-filled activities, we organised two separate raffles—one for children and another for parents and carers—to make the day extra special for everyone. We provided food and refreshments throughout, ensuring that all attendees felt cared for and included. The event was a joyful celebration of togetherness, and a great opportunity for families to create lasting memories.
To support parents and carers in understanding PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance), we held a dedicated speaking engagement with expert guest Laura Kerbey—a respected professional and published author in the field. The session offered valuable insights, practical strategies, and space for shared learning, all in a warm and welcoming setting with food and refreshments provided.
A few fun memories captured from a truly special few days. The event was filled with laughter, joy, and connection as children explored a range of inclusive activities in a safe and welcoming space. From sensory play and outdoor games to arts and crafts, it was heartwarming to see so many smiling faces and friendships forming. Parents and carers had the chance to relax, chat, and enjoy the day alongside their children, surrounded by others who understood their journey. It was a celebration of community, support, and pure fun—and we’re so proud of the memories made.
In May 2025, we had the honour of welcoming Laura Kerbey to speak at one of our special parent and carer events. Laura is a respected author, educator, and expert in Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA)—a profile on the autism spectrum that can be complex and often misunderstood. With her deep knowledge and compassionate approach, Laura delivered an insightful and empowering session that gave families a better understanding of PDA, along with practical strategies and reassurance. It was a truly valuable evening for everyone who attended. Look out for the full recording of her presentation, coming soon to our website. 🫶🏽

You're Never Alone CIC: Walking 2 Million Steps to Keep Our Support Going
At You're Never Alone CIC, we understand the challenges that SEND parent/carers face daily—the strength it takes, the obstacles they overcome, and the importance of having a strong support system.
Founded by a SEND parent, our organisation was created to ensure no SEND parent/carer ever feels alone on their journey.
This June, we’re walking 2 million steps together alongside parent/carers in a collective effort, to raise essential funds that will keep our organisation running .
